Pencil in Camp Mimanagish this summer!

Singing Waters Montana is thrilled to be working toward a June closing date to purchase Mimanagish!

We knew there would be hoops to jump through to qualify with the Forest Service – some days it feels like gymnastics! – but we are making progress. Meanwhile, we are planning for work camps throughout July, followed by a short season of small retreats. Everything is in pencil until we close; at that moment we will launch our new website and let everyone know when you can come and what you can do to help! We will need skilled and unskilled workers of all kinds.

Right now we would like to increase our Board by a few people. We need to focus on marketing and fundraising (especially grants, etc.) to ensure a solid future for Mimanagish. If you are interested in helping in this way, we have an application process so we can learn your strengths and discern who will be the best fit for our needs. Please contact John Firehammer by June 15 (info@singingwatersmontana.org) for more information, to read our Business Plan, and/or to get an application. We will meet by Zoom until our annual meeting at Camp in September. Don’t be shy! You may be exactly the person Mimanagish needs right now!

We also need a new Camp Mimanagish logo! Think what might look good on stationery, shirts, water bottles, stickers… We will accept submissions until August 15, and we’ll let our constituents weigh in before we choose. Anyone may submit! Send designs to John at info@singingwatersmontana.org.

We would love to have volunteer medical help this summer, July – September. We need a skilled person to keep camp participants safe and healthy. Please contact Cathy Barker at singingwatersmt@gmail.com.

Calling all Artists, Board members, nurses, cleaners, painters, builders, haulers, door-hangers, leak-fixers, designers, promoters, retreat leaders… no matter what your talents and interests, we need you all! Together we will make Mimanagish come back to life with sparkle and joy and create an exciting future for this special place!

Thank you all,

The Singing Waters Montana Working Group
